A Modest Proposal: Casio F-91W Day
The Casio F-91W digital wristwatch, it seems, is terrorist paraphernalia. I wonder if this has trickled through to the TSA 'front lines' ... wouldn't it be fun to send groups of males with F-91W's through checkpoints....

They can find neither guns, nor bombs, nor boxcutters artfully concealed in suitcases.
They aren't smart enough to notice a particular type of watch. Although they will probably start suspecting all watches. For safety. |
Oh No!
The blue handy box in the photo at the end of the article is exactly like the ones that I carry that one screener remarked looked like a detonator that they used in screener class. With the watch and the handy boxes and observant and intelligent screeners I would never get to fly again. Just reread what I wrote. Looks like I will not have to worry. |
I had a F-91W until a few years ago, when the band broke and the watch fell overboard. It was a very good watch that took a lot of abuse over the years and kept on ticking, until a certain accessory failed. I guess using governmental logic, I should immediately turn myself in and get an absolutely all-inclusive trip to a certain Cuban resort.
I imagine most Americans under the age of 30 had this same watch at some point in their lives. It is nice  to have confirmation that govermental asshatery is not limited to TSA. |
Let's see, what may be the most common watch in the world is commonly found being worn, and is commonly used, by bad guys as well as many millions of others. I've discovered that terrorists also commonly wear clothes, hats and sometimes even socks! Be afraid. Common sense is not common.
Good point, Ink. |

I still have one. I need to go find it.

I just hope the terrorists don't switch to Timex. Such a good deal at Target.

Has no one noticed that all 19 of the 9/11 hijackers were homo sapiens? How have we overlooked that weakness in our security? |
I should go buy one from Amazon and wear it to the airport any chance I get.
