DHS: TSA vs Border Patrol
 

Nappy and her reports are interesting people. Border Patrol is ordered not to do stuff to catch illegals while TSA is ordered to do stuff to innocent legals.

Border Patrol is catching too many people, TSA can't find anyone guilty to catch (except their own employees)

Interesting when they talk about 'creating an illusion' that things are safe. DHS seems to like theatrical illusions.

It is, of course, all for our security.

Why use the Border Patrol for their intended purpose of catching illegal entries at the border, when instead, you can leverage nationwide interior checkpoints at airports for papers-please checks of innocent citizens and Stasi-like control of the populace? :rolleyes: Never mind which one of these two policies will catch a larger number of illegals and harass fewer innocent citizens and legal foreigners. :td:

BTW, "innocent illegals" is an oxymoron. Entering the country illegally is a crime. Stealing the SSN of a citizen, either by stealing it or guessing it, and using it to commit labor fraud is a crime and should be a more serious crime. And the crime is not victimless despite the claims of many apologists for illegals--the innocent citizen with the stolen identity can suffer years of debt collector calls, harassment, credit delays, and even threats from the IRS.

All from the "innocent" actions of an "innocent" illegal. :rolleyes: I know from family experience. When my family has been compensated for their inconvenience, the tens of thousands of $ of property that was stolen in a home breakin by illegals is returned, and the criminal scum that did it are locked up in prison, then I'll consider having some smidgen of sympathy for a single illegal.

A possible explanation:

Napolitano and Co. are allowing the problem to occur at the border. It not only lets people through, but also substances.... illegal substances.

Under the pretense of security, they are tightening the screws to internal air travelers. But what they may really be looking for is illegal substances, drugs as well as WEI.

One hand lets bad stuff through, the other hand searches people at the checkpoint.

End result is A) conditioning people for warrantless body searches in more areas than just airports, B) get people to push for national ID, C) they enact more draconian measures, etc.

You aren't the only one who noticed this. Put the machines at the border and the smurfs there rather than harass people at the airports.
