Comparison of DAL to DFW, in regards to frisks

I'm trying to decide which airport to use, and was wondering what experiences folks have had at each one, in regard to frisks...

To say that I'm upset about the assaults taking place is an understatement... but in a couple weeks I'm going to have to fly in order to save a couple days' driving back to L.A. Need the time to pack my goods in preparation for relocating to Texas.

Anyway, hopefully I can restrain myself in case somebody decides to get 'fresh'... if not, you'll be reading about it in the next day's paper :(

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

I very rarely fly out of DAL, and when I have done, it's either been AA to ORD or CO to IAH. The CO checkpoint is set away from the main terminal checkpoint and I believe there is no nudeoscope positioned at that checkpoint.

I haven't heard any reports of scanners being installed at DAL, either here or at tsastatus.net. This article confirms that: coming later this year but if you're traveling in a couple of weeks, you'll be safe.

DFW has lots of scanners, but there are still a few checkpoints that are scanner-free (metal detector only), and the whole airport is connected on the secure side, so if you allow extra time, you can use a non-scanner checkpoint.

Assuming nothing out of the ordinary (valid id, no metal on your person), you should not worry about getting a pat down at a non-scanner checkpoint.

I'd use either DAL or DFW, just choose whichever has the best flights for your trip.

DFW has a particularly bad rep for TSA around here. Usually, if it's a bad story, it seems like the majority of time, it'll either be about DFW, EWR, LAX, or ATL.

The problem at DFW is that the TSA at that airport won "TSA of the year" or whatever they call it... It has gone to their heads.

Well, now we now what the criteria is ... the more abusive you are, the higher you're ranked. :td:

Which is probably exactly how the local TSA management sees it too.
