Hi,
I work at TOM BIHN -- we make the 3D Clear Organizer Cube.
The 3D Clear Organizer Cube was designed by Tom specifically as a 3-1-1 bag, and it's been successfully used as such by thousands of customers since its debut in April of 2009. We've used it on all of our trips for the past two years without issue. To our knowledge, W-N is the first customer that has had their 3D Clear Organizer Cube rejected at the security checkpoint.
As others have noted, the TSA 3-1-1 guidelines state that one must use a: 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag
We believe our 3D Clear Organizer Cube matches that description. And, until now, the TSA personnel that have inspected the 3D Clear Organizer Cubes of thousands of customers have agreed.
We'll see if we can reach someone at the TSA to get some clarification on this issue.

We received a response from the TSA that included the same 3-1-1 guidelines that can be found on their website. We'll see if we can reach someone higher up, but I'm not optimistic.

Good luck on trying to explain why your product should be ok.

While I haven't travelled to the US since pre-2001, I have travelled in Asia quite a bit over the years and recently went to Hong Kong and Malaysia. I live in Singapore and Changi Airport is pretty good when it comes to security. I don't use a ziploc bag for my LGAs but I do use a zippered clear plastic pouch. I've never been stopped or checked for it even though I don't take it out of my carry on. In fact on my recent trip the only thing I got stopped for at security was because I still had water in my water bottle.
Oh and if it must be a ziploc bag and only a ziploc bag, why is that companies that see refillable travel containers usually give you a clear plastic pouch which is apparently 3-1-1 compliant?
