TSA says shoes back in bins??? With nice typo on official document.

Just saw that this was uploaded on the TSA.gov site on Feb 21st.

Besides opening up the "shoes in bins" discussion again, who in the heck proofs this stuff?

"Remove footwear and place in a bin for."

W.T.F??? Nice quality control, boys and girls.

I suppose unpredictable grammar is intentional and confuses the terrorists as well.

what do you expect from an agency that employs high school dropouts that most likely failed ninth grade english...

or maybe this is more appropriate than

Remove footwear and place in a bin for absolutely no reason at all
or
Remove footwear and place in a bin for the benefit of our shoe-fetish screeners.

And let's not phorget that laptops that are in a "TSA approved carrying case", do not need to come of said case-only case needs to be opened

N.B. The "laptop link" I reference is dated August 15, 2008 and according to the OP's "brochure", that is dated 2/21/11

Yeah, I'm not doing that, not unless they provide single use liners for the tubs. I'm not putting my coat and jacket where some big old cowboy's you-know-what-kickers have been sitting.

Terrifying thoughts... all the germs on those bins... o.O
I think i've seen officers wipe down the bins before they are placed back in the pile at least twice at TPA airside- E, but then again. im not sure, it was atleast 2 years ago or so.

This may be a good reason to still have a newspaper in hand. I'd sacrifice whatever section I was finished with (or consider this a good purpose of all the filler stuff) to line the tub with prior to placing the intimates through the tunnel of love. Not entirely sterile of course, but less of an unknown than what else might have been in the tub. If enough people start leaving paper liners behind, mebbe someone would get the hint? <just a little levity folks>

On that same note... How about disposable paper slippers to cover scantily clad feet through the CP? Hmmm... perhaps improvised newspaper origami slippers? (upside-down newspaper hat)

Better yet... <naw... way too simple, but one can hope!>

We've been nagging them about "3.4 oz" instead of "3 oz", so they've replied with 3 (steps) = 4 points. Getting closer, huh?

and yet in Orlando, they are still specifically telling us to send shoes through without a bin,
glad they're on the same page.

So? Does TSA ever act like it is just one agency?

Nobody knows why they screen shoes, so they did not know how to finish that line

Place in a bin for Screening?
Place in a bin because we like to make people take their shoes off?
