UK steals a page from TSA

Airport security at Gatwick declares a 3" piece of molded resin a "firearm."

Have we been exporting TSA employees?

"The 'firearm' is three inches long and cast out of resin. It's probably just as well we didn't sell her a toy tank."

But the TSA would have confiscated the "gun" and played with it after hours.

From the comments:
Actually this "firearm" is dangerous. If someone tried to hijack a plane with it people would die..... laughing.

Well, this is the same airport that tried to tell Mendis that pasta is a liquid, because you need water to cook it.

I suppose it could have been a threat if shoved down someone's throat.

By all accounts by employees of the TSA, the entire world's supply of "common sense" was stored in a sub-basement of the World Trade Center and was destroyed on 9/11.

Ghu knows they haven't shown a lick of it since then.

They probably call the little toy plastic item a replica like TSA did for a Disney Pirates of the Caribbean toy plastic sword that TSA employees confiscated from a child.

A demonstration of not understanding the meaning of words, at least for TSA.

If that is a piece of legitimate news, it's pretty scary to me. If someone is so off base as to think THAT is a "firearm," do they think when they see an actual firearm that it's a pickle or a hairbrush or a wood sliver?
