Can you imagine actually being a TSA agent?

Your a complete joke to most all Americans
Your actions disgust most Americans
You are constantly ridiculed in the Press
You are required to fondle the genitalia of strangers all day long
You have no other employment options
You are not allowed to use your own intelligence to make decisions.
You are required to pretend that water is a dangerous substance.

Conclusion:

TSA people treat passengers miserably because they themselves are miserable people.

+ You don't understand the difference between liquid and non-liquid.
pasta is liquid

C&H is (mostly) great! Dark humor, clever jokes, bizarre... makes a great morning read. or a couple of hours going through the history... not that i'd know :D

p.s. on liquid pasta - i had a tupperware container with potato salad once (going home after brother's graduation fiesta = a LOT of leftovers). The container made the rounds through the hands of all staff at the entire effing checkpoint to confirm that it was safe to fly with... good times.

ha! it must have been some mean looking potato salad :D Once the TSA agent noticed that I had my bottle of liquid foundation out in the bin and told me that I didn't have to take it out of my bag because "it is not liquid, it's makeup" Umm...sure.

we should start a thread on 'tsa suspicious items'

two-pund costco pepper jack cheese is another favorite of mine.

Wow, you're lucky you got through without your salad getting tossed.

They need to add people who are in the process of getting a sex change operation too because we all know that the TSA Agents know that private information about the passengers once thay have been scanned.

This is without a doubt, seriously lacking any merit and is totally your opinion.
1. Most Americans dont care It is the FT'ers that say those things.
2. The press is one sided.
3. We are not required to do that "all day long."
4. We have lots of options I just could not locate a job that pays 67k a year right now,
5. I get to use sound judgment and decision making every day.
6. We dont pretend anything.

The last thing, if that was true then why are over half of our people lifers?

I saw that email too, I believe that my list was longer though.
Also regarding the pre op TS and Z class of people. We had one of those today.

(bolding mine). No, sound judgment would dictate that there's nothing dangerous about a single LGA < 3.4 ounces that is not in a baggie. Sound judgment would indicate that a 6 ounce tube of toothpaste that is clearly 90% empty is not a threat. Sound judgment is not to tell a passenger that TSA-approved locks are only for checked bags and should not be found in a pocket of a carry-on. Sound judgment would be to allow IDs that are listed as valid on the TSA website.

I'm not blaming you personally, but it is clear that your management structure (including your former federal judge who voluntarily took a pay and benefit cut to work in airport security) don't allow you to exercise sound judgment.

You may do so from time to time, but I'm certain it is not condoned by your superiors. Too many other statements from other TSOs, both here on the forum and on the TSA blog have proven otherwise.
