At this point TSA is so broken that its needs to be scrapped, and the remains incinerated encased in concrete and dropped in the Marianna trench. First off Tom "Im a Moron" Daschle needs to be thrown in jail and the key thrown away. 2 Stripes and above need to be fired with prejudice, investigated for criminal charges, any pensions stripped, and barred permanently from any further government employment. the rest of the clerks need to be fired and barred from any government jobs for 10 years and not eligible to be hired by the private sector that takes over security. DHS needs to be outright destroyed and the agencies that were rolled into it let to stand on there own again (CG, FEMA, HHS, NDMS, etc) as DHS serves no function other then a giant waste of space and money. |
If TSA was scrapped EPA would be looking to fine someone for tossing out hazardous waste.

Scrap with extreme prejudice. By which I mean that anyone who has ever worked for TSA gets a lifetime ban on any federal position, elected or appointed.

Both of you miss the greater point of the TSA making mention of the Thermos searches.
Step back and understand how this came to light. Simply announcing it takes away the element of surprise. DHS/TSA announcing it is about 90% of it, telling the bad guys that they are on to them, information likely gained through intelligence. And we know how much the bad guys like the element of surprise. Announcing it before hand effectively neutralizes the situation right there. Perhaps what this really indicates is that someone at the top of the TSA is actually aware that their security is as porous as an open door, and that's why all we've seen for front line employees are people with marginal skills. If your employer knows it is a make-work job, why pay for more than make-work people? |
