The answer is: neither one of those is a good option. If you insist that people choose one or the other, and more people say "head", does that mean you can then report that "most people like getting shot in the head"? The OP is likely setting up to use this thread to say "most people on TS&S don't want any airport security at all". Which is not true. TSA uses polls where people are offered the choice between the body scanner and an invasive patdown to claim that that "most people like the body scanners." Also not true. My vote: this poll is flawed. |

Bump for poll added.

I prefer a 1 in 500 million chance of being victim of a terrorist attack to a 1 to 1 chance of being x-rayed and/or groped.
Besides, the real security from terrorism comes from investigation and intelligence, not looking at naked hotties or groping grandma. |
Poll is flawed, but medal detector is good enough for me, no groping please.

The poster explained his reason for picking the specific two options he chose. It is a thought experiment. It is designed to distinguish between an 'anything for security' versus an 'anything for liberty' attitude, and there is no middle ground. Or course the vast majority of Americans would take the middle ground if given a choice...
Although I have a different bone to pick: If the option of 'no security' means that there is exactly one flight (per month, per year, ever) with no security, then, I'll take today's security. If the option of 'no security' means a sizable proportion of flights between these cities (or indeed, throughout the US) will have no security, then I will take no security. It's the difference between being a needle in a haystack and a needle on a bare concrete floor. But since I would never fly from NY to DC, who cares? ;) |

Sigh. Don't want the security, but I do want the boots and miniskirts back.
