Bringing back some Scotch ?
I have 3 bottles (yes, with Scotch in them) I'd like to bring back to MSP from EDI. What's the probability they'd make it all the way in my luggage?
|
Depends mostly on the quality of the scotch...
Sry... Couldn't resist |
"You can't be bringin' that .... on a plane ... 'Cuz that Johnnie Walker Blue is staying here with me! "

Whisky
Shouldn't be a problem
I flew EDI-LGW-MCO last July and had no problems. (with 3 bottles in checked baggage) If its a nice Single Malt wrap it up real good.^ |

Thanks. I'm thinking it'll be Auchentoshan 18, Oban 18, and either a Rosebank or Lagavulin (12 or 21).
Try Mortlach 16 if you get a chance to |
i am a wee bit partial to islay malts and would walk a thousand miles with my 2 bottles of '93 cask 15 yo lagavulin before i would risk sharing them with tsa baggage screeners.

Aren't those malts you can get in the U.S.? Go for the small distilleries. I'm still dreaming about the Poit Dubh [sp?] Islay Malt I brought back from my one trip in '96. Haven't seen it anywhere since....

i stick to my lagavulin, it reminds me of where and when i grew up, simpler times, taking a ride on a steam train, watching luggers sail into harbour with their catch, the co-op wagon coming to the village every thursday tack all shined up, horses glistening with sweat, when taking a trip on a boac 707 was all it took for me to fall in love with flying. a love i have pursued for decades til the tsa sullied it.

Lagavulin is my all time fav. I've got several bottles in the states. I'll have to see about that 93 15 year. Was that a sherry cask? I've just recently developed a love for Auchentoshan. Sweeter, milder, not as smokey, but very enjoyable. I usually put a few drops of water in my Lagavulin, not in my Auchentoshan. |
