Best Device to Record the CORRUPT TSA?
What is the best device to record the TSA when traveling? Would it be an Ipod touch, a regular ipod, perhaps two devices (in case they take 1?)
Background: 3 years ago I was given a $80 seat belt ticket after I had gotten out of my car. I had my seat belt on while driving, but how can you prove it after you are out of your car. When I asked the NYPD police officer his name, he asked if I wanted another ticket. I reported it to community board who could care less since we were the same race. Internal affairs called me a month later on NYe at 11:30pm and 6am to try to get rid of the case. Now I believe for my protection it's best to record these police/tsa encounters. If I had a video of the above encounter, this rogue cop would of been fired. |

I would recommend this, it might alarm the WTMD, so if is does then just take it off and put in the basket. Wear it through the NOS, the worst that will happen is the TSO will just pat it down and verify it is a pen. Opt out of the NOS, wear it when getting the pat down and record any nasty comments the TSO makes. I plan on getting one of these Mr. Elliott |
I thought about this as well, even though I dont travel. How about buying a cheap, digital camera off craigslist or ebay, used camera for recording video? this way if they illegally confiscate your camera, your not losing half your life like you would with a cell phone.
you can pick up pretty nice used digital cameras on craigslist for as little as $20. I actually keep one in my car just in case i need to record something... |
I've been thinking about this. I think a watch might be a little less obvious. Amazon has quite a few that will do audio.
This one does video as well: http://www.amazon.com/GSI-Security-R...0745800&sr=8-2 |
If you have a smart phone I suggest Qik. It uploads the video/audio online as it records so if you phone get taken away it doesn't matter as the video is already online.

has a home on my carryon. It looks innocuous, is attached in such a way that it isn't easy to remove and is simple to use. |

the keyfob is actually pretty cool since its the most 'covert' (the word im looking for escapes me) with a pen they could if they wanted to be weenies take it because it could be used as a weapon... where as you will always get your keys back... regardless as to what they do to you or attempt to do, you cant really go home if you cant get into your car or house cause they confiscated your keys.

Cool, huh? You can buy those from eBay sellers for around $10 delivered. Search for "spy camera car keychain" or similar to find them.
I have two similar devices. One looks kind of like a clip-on phone headset microphone. The other is a small black box about the size of a pack of chewing gum. They're cheap (like $20-40 or so, from China, sold on eBay), nice for unobtrusive recording (and unlike with the key fob, you don't have to hold them out pointed at what you're recording), but the interface is horrible (is it recording when I power on, or when the blue light goes green?), it's hard to tell whether you're recording what you want or not (wide angle lens would be really nice), and the battery life doesn't match memory capacity. I'm still searching for a better "personal data recorder". I've had too many experiences of people lying about their interaction with me. |
