I'm surprised by that one. After reading it, it appears to be more of a mission statement, then any call to change a specific operational process. It doesn't say anything about starting or stopping anything specific, just that we need to rethink how we're doing things.

Then again, if all of that, what's the point of the petition? :)

Probably the first time I have ever agreed with the ACLU....def the first time i signed an ACLU petition

So many here who express similar sentiments. If more of you had been more active in supporting the ACLU in the past, then we probably would not have gotten to the point we are at now. Remaining silent whilst the government goes after "other people" is what leads to the "no one left to speak up" problem when they do finally get you in their sights. Hope you have learned your lesson.

You are right it is too broad and covers another issue besides that one at hand. I thought a petition to be valid had to have other considerations like location and legal age and registered to vote. So how can it be valid?

This adds nothing to security.

Because of public fear of the TSA, more and more outraged Americans will be driving rather then flying as they elect to opt-out of airline travel which has 1/10th the risk of highway travel.

This additional driving will cause additional highway deaths.

This blood is on your hands.
The loss of revenue to the (private corp) airlines is on your hands.

Really no need to scold us here. At least people are signing it and doing other things to support this effort.

Signed.

Even though I am very anti-ACLU this is the one time I will support them on anything.

Do you only screen registered voters of a certain age? I thought not!!

Same principle, we are not petitioning on anything to do with voting or voting age. They do ask for your name and address.

Quite frankly, I agree with him. The loss of liberty doesn't happen all at once, it's more like death by a thousand cuts. When you ignore those thousand cuts, it shouldn't be surprising when you end up with a fatal wound.

Signed, of course.
