Just went through the A/B/C gate area this weekend and there were scanners installed in the 2 right lanes. I was able to avoid the scanner by breaking left (towards the elite/Seattle shuttle lane). Scanner lanes were SLOW and there was lots of yelling at people to take wallets and other things out of their pockets.

Note on MXP: L3 strip-search machine used on a small subset of gates (currently the "bus" gates to remote stands). There is no bag Xray at this point, meaning that the strip-search machine is solely for show - you can carry almost anything through in your bags.

Big waste.

Flew out of LGA yesterday. Was expecting to see that a MMW or BKSX machine had been installed, but no such unfortunate circumstances. The DL terminal is still an NoS-free zone.

Still no scanners at MSP T1 Checkpoint 1, nor most of the checkpoints in SFO T3

So nice to be able to fly with low risk of assault.

MHT

I was in the queue at MHT last Thursday when a man who seemed eager to use them asked if he would be going through a scanner. The TSA operative responded that they would be coming "next week", which would be this week. Just curious if anyone has seen them there at all.

RST now has the MMW in place at its one checkpoint. Given the low traffic levels, there likely isn't an option for an SDOO.

First step forward. But I guess we wait to see whether they'll replace it with MMW, and if so, will they allow opt outs?

ROC....

IF ROC is busy enough for 3 CP's, the check-point to the far right is open and non-NOS. Otherwise two lanes share the one NOS, and SDOO's can be tough.
The non-TSA (MacNeil Security) clerks and barkers at the two central lanes will yell about everything out of your pocket, no belts, no wallets, no shoes, blah-blah-blah-blah-blah. An opt-out produces an interesting dilemma for the head gropist, as he questions to ensure all paper is out of pockets and the prospective gropee (me) produces, gasp, a boarding pass from his back pocket. I'm back in elementary school as the gropist lectures me that I was told to take everything out of my pockets "back there". I sarcastically apologize, offer to walk back through the WTMD bypass gate and put the BP through the X-Ray machine, an offer which is not accepted, either. I tell the gropist to deal with it, eg throw the paper away, I can always get another, and now a Monroe County sheriff has come down from the exalted raised dais they usually use to peer down at the "proceedings".
I learn that this is "his airport, not mine" , that he volunteers to be assigned out here and has been continually for 2 years (guess it beats the danger involved with fighting real crime); that the procedures are stupid, but even he (exalted though he apparently is) must go through them, and that I must not be hostile to the screeners, I need to have Washington halt the stupidity. Clearly Monroe County staffs this airport with sheriffs to ensure no screener rights are violated by that army of perps sometimes better recognized as airline passengers.

now installed at all checkpoints at MHT -- both checkpoints upstairs, and the secret B checkpoint on the far right. each checkpoint has one unit. units are L3 MMW/ATD, and they are operational.
