That depends on the nature of the offense. Unless you are willing to divulge the nature of the charge, not the intimate details of the offense, all you are going to get is sheer speculation as opposed to concrete advice.

How do you know it was your record which caused you to be flagged? Many people get flagged for all sorts of reasons (including as innocuous as sharing a name with someone else of interest).
