Shopping Mall Terrorism Checklist

This probably won't stay here for long, but, be very afraid the next time you visit the food court at the mall across from your hotel.

And, don't go anywhere near the PetsMart to look at the puppies and kittens.

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid...

...complete with the requisite official caveat:

It is important to remember that just because someone’s speech, actions, beliefs, appearance, or way of life is different, it does not mean that he or she is suspicious.

I was certain that the link was going to be to the Montgomery County, MD, PD website.

Top of the list: The War on Photography™

Efforts to surveil or “case” the shopping center (e.g., taking pictures, making videos, or drawing diagrams of the location).

Meanwhile, about 9,040,000 results for "shopping mall" on Google image search.

Lol. i love it states "extremist" literature without actually defining "extremist". leaves the door open to any jackasses interpretation. And as pointed out the best part:

It is important to remember that just because someone’s speech, actions, beliefs, appearance, or way of life is different, it does not mean that he or she is suspicious.

which basically defines the entire pamphlet as pointless.

look at the fine print at the very bottom:
This project was supported by Grant No. 2008-DD-BX-0393 awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance..........Points of view or opinions in this document are those of the author and do not represent the official position or policies of the United States Department of Justice.

With all these agencies involved I wonder how much taxpayer money was wasted on this gem?

All graffiti is extremist IMHO

My favorite: "Extremist graffiti spray painted at the center."

Normal gang and tagger spray paintings trashing the place? No problemo. Local artists using brush and bucket to vandalize? Normal part of urban life. Call Paul Blart, he'll hold the bucket for you while you work. But watch out for those Extremist spray painters.

Al Kidda always paints "Bombing Tomorrow, Here" 24 hours in advance so there will be lots of extra security at the mall when they come to plant their device. The Jihadist Union rules must require it or something.

Meanwhile, as the Times Square bomber was sentenced to life in the hoosgow ....
I think we should report anyone looking at webcams or using the internet. Better yet, abolish both!

They must be totally PO'ed in Washington, because in reality, the Internet is the biggest security hole in the universe, and there's absolutely nothing they can do about it that has ANY effectiveness...:D

This project was supported by Grant No. 2008-DD-BX-0393 awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. The Bureau of Justice Assistance is a component of the Office of Justice Programs, which also includes the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the National Institute of Justice, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the SMART Office, and the Office for Victims of Crime. Read this and be very afraid. Just remember it is not us saying it.

Seven federal bureaucracies that I have never heard of until now.

When I saw the "Bureau of Justice Assistance" logo, I thought the whole thing was another clever photoshop spoof. :(

I'd never heard of them, either. Nonetheless, here they are...

Just how much does writing a page of drivel cost these days???

and

Then why does it say "US Dept of Justice" under the logo at the top?

:td: What a bunch of clowns. <--- unnecessary insult to honest clowns removed.

Individual(s) with unseasonal bulky attire
Oh great! Here comes a group of 80 year old ladies wearing sweatsuits in the middle of summer... they must all be terrorists!

The above description would have fit more than half the people who come and play bingo at my firehouse...

Extremist attacks on other malls, especially those with similar tenants
So now we should all be afraid because some nut job did something at some mall halfway across the country? Puh-lease....
