DHS making push for Body Scanners worldwide

Bad bad bad.

Push back, World.

And punt Nappy back across the border. Won't one of you 190 nations take this witch off our hands? :(

This is a small stimulus package for the US, until someone "gets around" the scanner too.
"We need to move to the next stage of screening," Napolitano said.
Terrorists "have kind of figured out the magnetometer business."

Well lady, they know how to get around the scanner too, just like drug mules have been doing for years.

Outstanding comment!

Most of the comments seem to be running against Nappy and the Nude-o-Scopes, but this one is awesome:

"Advanced Imaging Technology" is a euphemism created to make people think they are getting "scanned." No one is getting "scanned" -- they are getting strip searched.

The fundamental privacy issue is whether our government has the right to make strip searches routine and mandatory.

There is no question that these machines violate the 4th Amendment.

There are also health issues. Researchers are already coming out saying that the machines aren't safe and could cause cancer.

Another great comment:

About 2 months ago I was at Reagan National Airport ( DC). No one was doing the scanner. Even the TSA lady doing the patdowns was commenting: " no one wants to get in that thing and be seen naked or expose themselves to unnecessary radiation.. and you know what? I don't blame them.."

Didn't Italy just give Nappy the finger on this issue?

MikeMpls Sep 28, 2010 10:39 am

This is a very sinister, dangerous path. If a treaty requiring usage of the scanners should be ratified, I believe it would supersede any constitutional protections that we might have regarding strip searches & WBIs.

My hunch is that Nappy knows what she's up against and is searching for a back door approach to ram it down our throats. Nappy is one of the most dangerous evils ever to have come to power in Washington.

Makes me wax nostalgic for John Ashcroft.

Is North Korea participating in the meeting? Either way, Napolitano should seek asylum in North Korea. It's an appropriate place for her given the paranoia-based approach she uses to try to get her way.

I think Nappie and the whole of DHS should be sent to Siberia for a little winter sport, for life.

What's with Democratic Presidents and psycho-ladies in power? During Clinton we had to deal with Janet "You Ain't Got No 4th Amendment" Reno and now the next Democrat gives us Nappy?

FriendlySkies Sep 28, 2010 12:02 pm

Nappy, please shut the $#%! up, and leave the other countries alone! Comrade Chertoff does not need to sell any more machines, and you do not need to grow your collection of wbi porn..

I hear business in slow in the gulags these days. That would be win-win for both sides.

"Nefarious" is the word I was searching for in that earlier milepost: Nappy is one of the most nefarious ...."

At this rate it won't be long before no one is flying. Then the skies will be really safe.

What a bunch of idiotic, stupid, ignorant, clueless, imbecilic morons.

And again we have a "Janet" who wants to get rid of privacy. :td: :td:

DHS and DOJ/FBI keep abusing their authority -- generally with impunity -- and try to make the world in their image, and yet elected officials in the US and around the world keep empowering them further and further.

[They keep wanting expanded and more expanded legal authority for things that are already being done but whose production is of little/counterproductive use when it comes to the US court system.]
