Nevertheless, I ended up with 6 Qts. & nephew took 6 Qts. as both of us owned Honda and just gave it to our mechanics for the next oil change, LOL - perfectly safe, AFAIK. ;) Looked up the MSDS - exposure of motor oil could result in "stomach or intestinal upset (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), and irritation (nose, throat, airways)" as hazardous composition could create "carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, sulfur compounds, various hydrocarbons" http://www.msdshazcom.com/MSDS/A/Ash...5/wcd00582.htm As for that pocket Mace, it's the same one used by LEO - sales regulated in N.Y. and yes, had she wanted to bring it along as checked luggage, it would be fine under FAA rules but not as carry-ons (storing it inside the plane's cargo hold that may exceed 125 degrees F or go below -15 degrees F. may cause the can to leak or burst) My problem with TSA/security was that it only got picked out on the x-ray when we're already airside with it, but exited again to the terminal as we had extra time to wonder around b/c of our much delayed flight, and when we went thru the checkpoint a 2nd. time around, it got spotted. |
