Back pat downs for everyone?

Flew out of Seattle to DC yesterday and they were giving back pat downs to everyone regardless of whether you set the metal detector not. They also "tested" my shoes, no idea why.

File a complaint: 1-866-289-9673

There's no excuse for such disgusting, un-American harassment without probable cause. If possible, report the name of your harasser(s) when making your complaint.

My guess would be they had intel for something that was to occur.

I seriously doubt there was any new credible threat.

Intelligence pretty much bypasses the disgusting, un-American agency called TSA.

That wasn't intel. That was someone's idea of unpredictable screening. It really just delays and annoys passengers, and probably annoys the TSA staff who have to do it.

In the meetings when these measures are announced, nobody asks, "How will this help or protect our passengers?"

Well now there's a change. Usually the TSA pats itself on the back. :p

"Please change your gloves."

"Change your gloves" works, too.

I received a back pat down 2 weeks ago in Redmond, OR. My husband received on in Atlanta, GA last Friday. In Redmond it was a female TSA and she checked my back and the lady behind. I am not sure if others backs were patted down or not. In Atlanta, I went through and was not subjected to the back pat down. My husband followed me and had his back patted down...it was a male TSA agent. So I am wondering what this new "back pat down" is all about and if it has to be female-female and male-male.

Any screening involving making physical contact with the passenger is done by a same-sex TSO.

If there was real intel, the last thing they'd be doing is sharing it with some uncleared flunkie who can't keep SSI a secret (unless it's to cover their behinds).

Assuming that you are at a large airport. Go to some small airport where one person may be running the xray, metal detector, and doing tic all by themselves. It is possible to receive "secondary" screening by a TSO of the opposite gender, although it is not likely. I love when the creepy (sorry to pick on them) older gentlemen ask for the 22 year old blond female to "assist" them.

Sure, no problem.

"No problem, anything for you buddy;)" works, too.

That someone is a computer, spitting out randomly generated search types to be conducted.
Change probably to definitely.

Same presumed sex.
