Travel with a Klean Kanteen

I travel SFO-LHR 6-8 times a year, I hate spending for and using plastic water bottles, I also don't need to check a bag. Can i go through security with an empty, steel water bottle, aka a Klean Kanteen?

Does anybody have any experience?

Thanks

If it is empty, there should not be much of a problem.

I've gone with an empty plastic bottle several times. I would think it would be the same thing.

You won't have any problem! I travel with a Nalgene and a SIGG bottle.. Never had any problem, even when they are filled
