EU Ministers extend liquid ban until 2013

The EU ministers in their infinite wisdom, decided to not oppose an extension of the liquid ban until at least 2013.

Thank you.

This is pretty ridiculous. I was hoping that the Europeans would have more common sense than the TSA (which is really not hard to have), but they screwed up royally.

Regarding enforcement of the ban in Europe:

We traveled with an infant through Europe earlier this week. In MAD we had no problems whatsoever with bringing 20oz sealed bottles of water on board for the formula.
In LHR, they made us pour the water from the bottle into the baby bottle container and made the mother drink breast milk.
in HAM, the bottles were no issue but my 100ml yogurt was deemed a terrorist threat until the screener suggested that if the yogurt is for the baby, then we could keep it.
But, they did make me buy a clear plastic bag for it for 50 cents.

I guess we can all feel safer now.
