25K
I moved three weeks ago. I did not call Sprint to advise them of my new number. When I got my new number I simply told BellSouth that I wanted Sprint. I made it a point to use 1010XXX codes to dail any L/D so far as I didnt want to get dinged for high 1+ rates from a non subscriber line. They can range up to 4 bucks for the first minute.
Tonight I called 877-836-5057 and asked the agent if the 5K for 5months program was still available. She said no. I thanked her and hung up. I called back and the next agent said yes it was. I gave her my new number and she entered it into the system. She immediatly advised me that I had already been getting the points. I had yet to give her my WP number. She told me that if a number is disconnected from a Local Carrier and a new one connected with the exact same name they automatically link the existing account within Sprint. (Dont ask what billing confusion might be cause if a different person with the name TW ordered phone service with BS the same day!) I asked her that, since I had disconnected my old number and this was new service would I qualify for the points again, pointing out that I was happy with the service but that everyone offers similar plans and its a commodity, I would be switching to a carrier with a better point offering. She said no problem Mr. Wind your points will begin posting again in 8 weeks. We will see! TW |
NW hasn't posted my last 5,000 yet, though Sprint says it has. They say wait 8 weeks. I was getting them right on the money at the beginning of my five months, but each month it seems to get longer. Anyway, I think I'll switch to ATT for 3,000 CO miles and then see what Sprint will offer to get me back. If not, I can always just go back to my cheap non-points-acquiring (gasp!) MCI plan.

it is just ridiculous how one agent gives you a certain information and the next refutes it. I was told that to sign up on the Smart Plan for International calling, I would get 10,000 NW miles. When I called to sign up a few days later, I was told no miles for enrollment but 5 for every dollar spent. She said that they never had the plan that I had called to sign up for. Is it surprising that most accounts end up in a mess! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

Based on my experience, all Sprint reps do not know about all offers. The one related to NW 25k miles is known as "on-line" offer. You must mention it to the operator to look for on-line deals, otherwise s(h)e will not be able to find it.
I signed up in Aug and I have gotten my 5k per month posted already. Good Luck!! |
Thanks deliad !
When they say 'on-line', do you think that means we can find the offer on the Internet? If so, could you share the url? |
Well, I got the info from http://www.mileageworkshop.com/
Good site if yhou are addicted to miles. Originally posted by Wombat18: Thanks deliad ! When they say 'on-line', do you think that means we can find the offer on the Internet? If so, could you share the url? |
My last 5,000 posted sometime in the last week, although post date says 10/25. But I had checked as late as last Wednesday and no dice. Anyway, they're there, and just in time. AT&T called this morning, and I went with them. I'll post details on that in AT&T forum.

Just finished my 10,000 miles with MCI. Was supposed to take 5 months and took over 9.
Many, many, many, phone calls to help them remember. Called Sprint and the best they offer is 20,000 over 18 months. 2,500 1st invoice 2,500 6th invoice 5,000 12th invoice 10,000 18th invoice. Has anyone gotten the 25,000 lately??? ------------------ |
I just got an offer in the mail today for 10,000 Worldperks miles after 12 months, and another 10,000 after 6 additional months of service.
|
Thanks schutzee, sounds like that is the same as what they are offering on the phone except with the phone offer you get some of the points sooner. Both 20,000 over 18 months.

Sprint is like AT&T. They promise and never keep their promises. They will deny and frustrate you. I have been trying for the past six months to get Sprint to give me the 3,000 miles balance of the promised 25,000 WP miles. I have heard all sorts of excuses why I havent received them, but never in writing!
Sprint and AT&T are big time scammers I wonder how many FTalkers have received all their miles from Sprint! |
Today the first 5k of my 25k posted. Just yesterday I had a nice conversation with a rep at the Sprint toll free number for the WP program. I called to change from LEC billing to Sprint direct. While speaking with her I inquired about the 25k. She looked and said that she saw it there, did not know how it was given to me as the program is over. She basically said Happy Santa Day early and implied I should not call in again until they have all posted! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif TW |
Sprint reps: I've found that if you don't like an answer you get from a Sprint rep, just thank them, hang up, and call right back. Recently, I was trying to get a PCS calling plan set up that was $75 for 3000 minutes (1000 peak, 2000 off-peak). The first two Sprint reps I talked to said that what I wanted would cost $109 ($99 + $10 for add'l offpeak minutes) per month. Third time's a charm: the rep found the $75 plan immediately and quickly set switched me to it.
The same goes for rebates, fees associated with equipment upgrades, other promo offers. And presumably with landline FF mileage offers, too. Persistence pays off with these people... Just keep calling and you'll find someone who knows what they are doing (hopefully). |

make sure they enrolled you in the 3K for $75.00 plan that includes long distance! TW |
Found on mileageworkshop.com that there are two NWA/Sprint promotions:
Earn 10,000 Northwest WorldPerks miles for signing up for Sprint Nickel Nights. 5,000 Bonus Miles will post in 6-8 weeks after your first and sixth Sprint invoice for a total of 10,000 miles. Earn an additional 500 miles for signing up online. Earn DOUBLE Northwest WorldPerks miles for every dollar (10 miles per dollar spent instead of the usual 5 miles) with Sprint Nickel Nights. Plus earn 7,500 Bonus Miles just for signing up. This promotion offers an additional 2,000 points per additional line registered. I'm currently a very long-term AT&T customer and will anxiously wait to see if Sprint lives up to their "promise" of the points. If not I'll switch back to AT&T and CO points. Anybody know if the 25,000 point offer is still available? |
