MCI COMES THRU

Got to give them credit when they deserve it. When I checked my AA acct on-line yesterday I saw I got the miles from MCI for the usage for Dec but not for the 5,000 bonus miles. So I went to the MCI web-site and e-mailed them reminding them it was set up as a DL acct but that I changed it in the beginning of Dec. Low & behold an e-mail back within 12 hrs telling me that they gave me 2500 on 12/31 and the other 2500 comes from AA unlike the deal with DL all coming from MCI, with a note to contact them if the miles don't show up so that they can look into it.

Signed up for the 25,000 mile bonus promotion. Rep took all my info, but now they say i'm not elgible. I've already been switched and paid a bill, but they wont honor it. Any suggestions?

Where can you sign up for 25,000 miles with MCI? Airline web sites only offer 5,000. I thought I was doing real well by bargaining for 10,000!

Has anyone recently tried the 25,000 offer that was talked about this summer? Is it still available?

I signed my father up for the promo (Z25A) over Thanksgiving weekend when I was visiting them for the holiday. The miles are posting properly since then. I, myself, have just received the fouth of five 5K installments. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif I guess I'm one of the lucky ones...

Does your father live in one of the eight states that were listed or were you able to get by "out-of-state"? Does anyone know how long this promo will last?

Miles Man......Just keep trying. With MCI you seem to get a different answer every time you call. So if one representative can't (or won't) help you hang up & call back.

I believe this promo still works. Follow the link Schutzee posted. I signed another line up about a month ago and got my first 5,000 miles end of December. Other lines are going smoothly. I monitor it closely. I'm getting 15,000 a month on DL for 3 lines, plus 5,000 a month each on CO and AA. AA is slow to post their matching 2,500 miles, but they do come, so far (fingers crossed!). I'm considering installing more phone lines!

The deal with this is keep calling MCI til you get a good rep. I suggest calling late at night. Also, some will pay your switchover fee if you ask, others won't.

I had some good experience with MCI. Well it was shakey to start with... I signed up for MCI Net Savings (9 cents any time.. and no monthly fee, just a $5 min)... they also promised miles... so then I went away, my wife receieved a call that they made an error, and set us up for something they could not, and in order to compensate us, they gave us $100 credit. Then I switched the program back to Net Savings (9cents), they put us on a 5cent evening program... So I received the program I wanted.

One week later, I saw the message on here on who to contact via email for MCI problems.. and low and behold, they now gave me a 5,000 mile bonus and earining miles on UA Mileage Plus... Works well!!

A little confusion = miles & cash http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I last got the 25K deal on 12/6/99. The first 5000 posted this past weekend. I am in NY. Keep calling till you get the 25k deal. It may take four or five calls !~!

They tell me the 25K is still going on. Best to use these phone numbers
AA 800-432-3426 the code is Z25A
CO 800-256-1474 the code is Z25C
DL 800-269-2292 the code is Z25D
They may ask if you got a flyer, of course, say yes, but I don't have it in front of me. I have switched my lines when I've gotten all my miles, to another family member and a different mileage program. That's 9 options. We had 5 lines (including 2 cell phones). I switched my 6th line back to MCI to get 25K AA miles. This is the first time I'll have 2 phone numbers both with my name and my AA number. We'll see if they post. They said it could be done. But we all know that you can't always believe what MCI tells yoj.

Is there a number/code for the 25k promo with United? If not, what's the best MCI sign-up offer with United at present?

canonlaw Jan 30, 2000 5:32 am

I just got the 25,000 with United Friday night, simply by asking when I called if my Mileage Plus number were on my account. Miles are given in increments of 5,000/month (I think--don't quote me--I was so surprised at getting any customer service that I was only 1/2 listening to the content!). I'm on a calling-card only account, so I pay it "automatically" with Amex so I can get the Membership Rewards too.
