Domestic airfare for foreigners

I know that in the recent past, Avianca and LATAM always had super cheap domestic fares for Peruvians, but foreigners were not eligible for them. This created a problem on Google Flights where the pricing did not correspond properly to reality for us. However, it seems that the introduction and expansion of the LCC's in Peru has had a positive effect on the legacy airlines' policies. I was able to book a CUZ-LIM flight on Avianca for $50. I used the app and selected USA as my location, but the airfares were still low.

Can anyone confirm that the bad old days of the gringo tax are fading away on these flights? I understand dual pricing for attractions, but it can be a real PITA on airfare.

I did the rational thing and contacted Avianca directly:

Derian: If you have thought to buy in this days, let me inform you that the restrictions for Peruvian or non Peruvian Residents does not applies, can apply if you have a ticket which was purchased before of February the 5th, in that case if the ticket was purchased before that date, the penalty of $178.50 USD can apply, but if you want to buy now, the restriction does not applies and you can buy the fare you want, without have to pay overcharges.

When booking the following disclamer appears on Avianca.com:

''For routes within Peru, Super Promo and Econo Fare Options apply only for purchase in Peru.''

The Avianca CS tells the following:Me: "So the foreign tax on tickets are removed, as long as you book them in Peru? Does this also qualify for online tickets?
Avianca: That's correct."

Edit: Avianca CS confirms this. Penalty removed February 2018.

Anyone know please what the current situation with LATAM is please? Do they still charge a gringo tax from Cuzco to Lima? And if I get an Avios ticket via BA what happens about the gringo tax?

Residency restrictions have been discontinued in LATAM domestic, no penalties would apply.
