Belmond properties and vacation
 

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Belmond properties or vacations in Peru. I am planning a vacation for next April, and was considering using the Belmond group to plan the vacation to include transport, lodging at the Belmond properties, and tour guides, etc. Has anyone stayed at their hotels? Anyone used the service before? It is pretty expensive, but they look like nice properties and I'm willing to pay it if they do a good job of arranging unique experiences and good guides. Any thoughts or experience is welcome.

Miraflores Park is now a Belmond hotel. It is very nive, well located, I've been in a suite few years ago, and several times at conference room. Don't know how it changed with the last improvement, bit I think it's a very good option as always.

Hi, I just got back from LIM and stay there 1 night. I'm actually quite impressed at how good it was. It was only a Junior Suite but was able to snag the oceanview which was incredible. Wifi was just ok--but that's the case of all wifi in LIM. Got them to give me a tour of the Presidential Suite and was mesmerized. Besides the beach, Larcomar (shopping,eating) and El Faro (the Lighthouse--paragliding) is a 20-30min walk away. IMHO, worth every penny.

Stayed at the Nazarenas in Cusco and at the Rio Sagrado in the Sacred Valley, and both hotels really ranks at the top end. Prices are quite steep.
The reason behind the name change from Orient Express to Belmond remind a mystery for me, but if they take the same care with their tours as they take managing their hotels, you should be fine.

Really appreciate the feedback, sounds like a quality option. I know I'll probably pay quite a bit, but for this vacation as long as it is easy and the places are nice I'm not too concerned.
