Side of the plane for view from LIM - CUZ - LIM

Hello,

Is there a better side of the plane to be on to see the views between LIM - CUZ - LIM?

Thanks.

Just sat on the right side of the plane yesterday and the views were just ok. It doesn't compare with a landing in MEX IMO, although the pilot does some pretty sharp turns into CUZ.

Sat on the left side going in recently and the views were good... but I guess it is all relative.

My own experience: sit on the left side flying to Cuzco, you will see Lima right after departure and then, if you're lucky, you may even see Plaza de Armas approaching Cuzco airport. In general, you will have mountains on the left and the ocean on the right after the departure from Lima, and I suppose the mountains are much more interesting.

Here is what the Lonely Planet guidebook to Peru (the 6th edition, from 2007) says on this topic: "When flying from Cuzco to Lima, try to check in as early as possible so you can get a seat on the right-hand side of the plane for the best views of the Salkantay's 6271 m peak. Some pilots like to fly quite close to the mountain, and the views are sometimes stupendous. (Sit on the left from Lima to Cuzco). Very occasionaly a different route is taken over Machu Picchu."

LIM to CUZ (Seat on Left will offer great view if there is no cloud cover)

Look especially just few minutes before landing

Also, landing in Cuz is interesting...

Thanks. Looks like we are on a small aircraft. If there is nobody, we will try to move to the left close to landing and try to catch the view. That is, if we're awake.

The views on the left were great. We had the f cabin to ourselves. I was surprised they served breakfast on the short flight.

I recommend left side for the LIM-CUZ flight. When you are approaching Cusco you can appreciate the snowy mountains. Sometimes very close but not always, it depends on the route the plane takes.

I think the mountain in Tummy's pic is the Salkantay. Sometimes the plane descends very, very near that sacred mountain. It's amazing!!!
