Tue-9/11 Macchu Picchu Return to Ollantaytambo Wed-9/12 Private all-day tour of Maras, Moray, Chinchero End tour in Cuzco Thu-9/13 Stay in Cuzco Cuzco city tour Fri-9/14 Return to Lima (noon) Stay in Miraflores Sat-9/15 Lima Sun-9/16 Depart from Lima (morning) I just need to plan Lima now haha. |
I don't have enough references to answer about Putucusi. I'm not a fanatic hiker, though I enjoy it, so I would enter MP both days if possible, but I'm a fanatic of ruins, history and culture. I tried once to enter the Huayna Picchu area, not to hike it but just to see the ruins around that mountain (I think it's temple of the moon), but it was 11am and already full, and I couldn't enter, even though I swore I wasn't going to climb the HP, they didn't let me:(. You need to enter early.
But if you love to hike, go to Putucusi, no doubt.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18876813-post29.html Or more ruins in the surrounding areas? (Pachacamac, Puruchuco.. Caral is possible too but it's a full day and no time to see Lima by day), it's 200km north from Lima, and just crossing the northern part of the city is 1 hour or more (traffic!!). Or good restaurants? there are some good outdoor restaurants (peruvian food) near Pachacamac ruins (Don Cucho, Gloria del Campo) so you can combine both. Pachacamac is south from Lima, very close, and leaving the city from the south is fast, far faster than the northern districts. |
We get to Agua Caliente at 8am, second group for Huayna leaves at 10am, is there enough time to get to the hostel, check in, and then get to Huayna?

Aguas Calientes is a really small town so everything is close but the streets are narrow. However, you need 30 minutes to get from the entrance of MP to the entrance to WP and there is often quite a lot people in line waiting for the buses. You should be able to leave your luggage to the hostel if you know where it's located, it's very close and hurry. To be able to arrive on time, you should be at the line for the buses at 8.30 at the latest. If in doubt, use the luggage storage at MP (and verify that it's still there).

edit: eh, i thought i could buy the HP ticket separately from the MP ticket, online. I don't want to pay for 2 days of MP. I guess I'll skip HP. |
Any tips on getting to/from Awanacancha from Pisac? Do i have to hire a taxi and ask him to wait at the farm until i'm done?
