Best Balcony/Rooftop Bar/Garage rooftop view to see Space Needle
Hey looking for a place to get a good over the shoulder picture view with the Space Needle. Most places searching online the space needle looks far away. With that said, any high building hotel balcony/rooftop bar/garage rooftop view to see the Space Needle?
The Mbar looks decent but hope there's a closer better view for picture taking but is still high up off the ground.

Parking Information (seattlecenter.com)
Maybe the top of the Mercer Street Parking Garage - but the Opera House might get in the way.
First Avenue Parking Garage would've worked, but it is closed due to construction on the Arena.
Kerry Park is still likely gonna be your best - it's 0.75 miles distance as the crow flies, is high up, and has an unobstructed view.

One of the most interesting views of the Space Needle IMO is the one from the observation deck off the Chinese Room (now Observatory Bar) at the top of the Smith Tower. Of course, being at the south end of downtown, it's nowhere close to the Space Needle, but the view from the Smith Tower involves a "terminating vista," in which a landmark blocks an otherwise unlimited view, in this case the First Avenue corridor. With a longish lens (or plenty of megapixels so you can enlarge the image) you can get a very interesting shot, like these:

In downtown Seattle you have to many tall buildings in the way.
the needle is on the north side of downtown, so you can get better views from the north side of the city from the park mentioned above and other spots.
you coukd always go out on one of the ferries or other boats into the water.

Some of the Downtown/Belltown residential towers have phenomenal views from their rooftop observation decks (The Emerald, Helios, Insignia, come to mind).
The view from a few different office towers is pretty good as well (e.g. top floor Russell Investments, the Macy's Building, a few of the Amazon buildings in Denny Triangle, etc.).
+1 for Bainbridge/Bremerton Ferries, tho it's not exactly "over the shoulder" if I'm interpreting OP's post correctly.
