the JSX thread
GSW's behAAviour makes me want to fly JSX
no one blinked an eye when AMR killed Legend
but that was before 3 bailouts and the plunge to rock bottom public torture products
message to AA, DL and UA: stop torturing your pax - this won't end well for you if you persist

i would like to see jsx do something like UA did with the 550 and a Braniff twist - giant all-Leather recliners with in-arm video screens and proper galleys for hot real food
maybe an E170 would hold 15 rows of 1x1, or maybe it would take a 900, whatever the right size is for best economics
$1k flat all-in from DEN/DAL/HOU/MCI/MSP/STL/XNA/MSY to either coast

Or did you mean MAF? Midland/Odessa, Texas?
The latter was already tried as a semi-private public charter route by Rise with King Airs.

Got an email from the private aviation industry's trade group (NBAA) asking me to write to FAA and DOT about proposed new restrictions on DOT 380 public charters. JSX wasn't mentioned by name but this is no doubt a response to lobbying efforts by the airlines to crush JSX.
DAL/HOU - MAF is interesting but I'm not sure JSX has figured out how to make itself attractive enough to business travelers to be viable on routes like MAF. While the product is amazing, without frequency and attractive departure times, it's just not going to work for business travelers in same-day out-and-back markets like DAL/HOU - MAF. I assure you that Dallas and Houston bankers and lawyers don't want to spend a minute more in Midland than they have to!
And there's not enough of an outbound leisure market from MAF to support JSX's (I think) main demographic of discretionary leisure travelers. And the wealthiest denizens of the Permian Basin (some of whom are my clients) have their own bizjets for when they want to get out of town and go to places other than DAL/HOU.

I have a better idea - put AA out of business instead, no one will miss that slimy organization. At least their idiot of a CEO admitted the reason for their anti JSX campaign

Answer about Americans lobbying campaign, he said that we will take on all competitors, plain and simple. But then he went on to explain where that isnt actually the case and they prefer to compete by lobbying the government so that they do not have to.

I just flew the Carlsbad --> LAS route - this was an amazing experience. Super easy and no time at all spent dithering at the airport.
We got to Carlsbad dropped off the rental car (it was a bit of a walk to the terminal ~5 minutes or so. Dropped our luggage (they didn't weigh it). Hung around about 15-20 minutes boarded and off we went.
Flight was fine, FA was great. The experience at Vegas was far far superior to arriving at any of the main terminal locations. We were off the plane and in the waiting car with our luggage ~10 minutes after the wheels hit the runway.
I live out east, but will for certain fly JSX again when i have a O&D that they serve.

Keep in mind that JSX operates under part 135 and as such can’t operate scheduled air service on an aircraft over 9 seats. Those saying everyone is out to get JSX need to understand that the rule has long been in place. To try and find a way to circumvent the rule when you buy a ticket with JSX you’re actually purchasing the ticket through another company. They then charter a JSX jet for the flight. The fact the whole thing is under one ownership JSX says is not pertinent. The FAA disagrees and is moving to insure the loophole is closed.
