Interjet / 4O / AIJ is Mexico’s third largest airline (after Aeroméxico and Volaris, operating on a hybrid LCC model - lower prices, but extended seat pitch, etc. Interjet initiated operations in 2005 with domestic service in Mexico, but has expanded into medium haul international destinations.

The fleet consists mostly of Airbus A320 family aircraft, including neo (New Engine Option) aircraft and a handful of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft that were very cheap to buy but have seen as much as half the SSJ100 fleet grounded for awaiting parts. Hopefully this issue will be rectified by the time all 40 SSJ100s have joined the fleet.

One of the features of Interjet has been extended ~34” seat pitch for all Economy seats.

Our aircraft represent innovation and modernity. Ever since 2005, our fleet has strengthened with Airbus A320, A321, A320neo, A321neo and Superjet 100 aircraft, characterized for their innovative cabins, high-tech engines, broad aisles and fuel efficiency.

To offer a better service to our passengers, each plane has been adapted with less seats than the maximum capacity in the aircraft’s original design, which makes us the airline with the most space between seats in the whole American continent within the high efficiency category.
Interjet announced it would be joining the oneworld alliance in 2015, but there has apparently been no substance to that. Codeshare and strategig agreements have been established with other airlines

[
We’ve made strategic alliances with airlines such as Alitalia, All Nippon Airways (ANA), American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, LATAM Group Airlines, Lufthansa, Japan Airlines, EVA Air, and Hainan Airlines.
Interjet has different fare types, and these will determine your baggage allowance. Link.

E.g. between Mexico and the USA, one bag will cost you USD $30 in Light, you’ll have a free 25 kg (55 lb) allowance in Optima and two bags of 25 kg (50 kg Total) in Priority.

Interjet offers further discount possibilities, including:

Senior Citizen (age 65 or over): 15% discount

Jetbook: bundled multiple trip tickets at a discount also include free changes for name, date and time, even at last minute

Temporary offers / promos: link

Club Interjet: There are three levels of membership, free to $25 (and $12 for additional family members) that allow earning discounts for future flights rather than miles or award credits.

Amenities: Courtesy (free) alcoholic and non-alcoholic benerages and snacks (including sandwiches on longer flights). One lavatory restricted to women.

Hub is MEX - Benito Juarez International Airport / AICM.

Focus cities are CUN / Cancún, GDL / Guadalajara and MRY / Monterrey (Nuevo León, Mexico).

International destinations include Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvadór, Perú and several cities in the USA.

The airline is entirely family owned by the Alemán family, one of Mexico’s wealthiest. Policies and terms and conditions can vary from other airlines, so be sure to read the applicable terms for your flight.

Does Interjet partner with any other airlines that I can credit miles to?
I remember seeing on their website a deal with Iberia. It was also available on wheretocredit. Now I do not see anything on either site.

It appears that interjet partners with AA, and that you can get AA credit for an AA booked flight operated by Interjet, perhaps only for flights between MEX and other places in Mexico. So some restrictions.

And according to their website, they code share with Iberia, latam and AA, and have "interlineal" agreements with several other air carriers.

Had great flights with Interjet, GDL-MEX-COZ and reversed the next year. No frills but nice to have seats that don't feel like your in a straitjacket. More or less on time, a little confusion in Mexico city with a gate change but overall, great.
