Air Transat - Plus Upgrade, or Club worth it?

An extra $200 return for an upgrade to option plus, or an extra $400 per flight for club class. I'm really only concerned about my YYC to LGW flight as it departs at 4pm and arrives the next morning at 8am, so I'm thinking sleep may be an issue.

I did pre-book my seats and have ended up in the fifth row which doesn't seem terrible.

Anyway, any feedback, are the upgrades worth it on a discount airline?

It is 100 percent worth it just for the legroom and not having to deal with the chaos and masses in the back. You have to consider though if you would rather sit in Y on ammajor airline and earn the status miles for the same price as comfort class. If saving money is your thing, stay in transat economy, if not just dont bool transat at all (imo) as they also fly into gatwick..

I'd pay a little extra for the major airlines, but the tickets come in at around $600 per ticket less.

Gatwick isn't really that big of a problem, and actually probably works out to our advantage as we are flying in during the olympics and I suspect Heathrow will be a bigger zoo than it usually is.

Transat's economy seat pitch isn't as bad as it used to be and it can be practically the same as AC or UA's is in the back.

I would compare the Club Transat hard product to UA E+ as it's roomier economy, though they do give you an upgraded set of perks like dedicated check-in, priority boarding, better meal with drinks, greater luggage allowance, etc.

That said IMHO while the upgrade on TS is a good value for what you get I personally would save the $800 and stick with the seat you have in the back.
