Flying ELAL thru Delta

1. A passenger that flew on an ELAL flight with a ticket that was issued thru Delta, on which frequent flier program can he claim the miles?

2. Are there any disadvantages by booking such a ticket (thru Delta that would be flying on an ELAL flight)?

1. Delta.

*member of El Al clubs will not be able to earn points on DL marked flights en route Tel Aviv - NYC - Tel Aviv.

2. That is the question for every codeshare flight. DL might offer better prices, or one-ticket connections that ElAl does not offer.
You will probably not get the perks of a Delta Elite (if you are an Elite) as it is another carrier. Not sure about ElAl perks if you are gold or Platinum.

If yuo buy an El Al ticket you are allowed to get DL or AA mileage but the crummy thing is that on a discounted ticket you only get 50% of the mileage.

Better though than Iberia that only gives 30% mileage credit on AA program for discounted tickets.
