Hotels in Dubai
Hi
I know that this topic has been touched upon before, but I would be grateful for hotel recommendations in Dubai. I know that the Burj al Arab is head and shoulders above anything else in the UAE (and possibly the world!) and am planning a one night stay there. However, for the the remaining 5 nights of my stay I'm looking for slightly more reasonably priced accomodation. Requirements are 5 star hotel, close to a good beach, with a choice of restaurants. Design-wise, I'd prefer something reasonably tasteful and modern (rather than too chintzy and OTT). There seem to be a number of properties that match these crieteria. Recommendations gratefully received. Thanks! |
I am going to Dubai this May and am staying at Burj Al Arab also...I did an AOL search and found South Asia travel, filled out a request for quote form and got a 2 bedroom suite for about 1/2 off...$564 per night for 4 people inclusive of breakfast, passes to Wili Wali park. We are staying five nights...be sure and eat at the underwater restaurant...supposed to be amazing...
have fun! |
Thanks!

Hi,
I lived in Dubai for nine years and I still go back every Christmas. In my opinion the Burj al Arab is not that great. It's overrated and it's tacky. The hotel may be nice from the outside but from the inside it's not that great. The restaurants are overpriced, and even they're not that good. As to what hotels would I recommend, I would recommend the Royal Mirage if you want a resort, or the Emirates Towers hotel if you want a hotel on Zayed road (one of the main business districts of Dubai). They are both beautiful hotels, and are much better than the Burj IMO. |
