Ethiopian surcharges on award tickets?

According to this article Ethiopian (ET) doesn't surcharge award tickets. Can anyone confirm and maybe provide a link to this published policy?
If the article is correct, can I book an ET award ticket with Turkish Airlines (TK) Miles & Smiles miles and only pay taxes and fees; no carrier imposed fees/surcharges, fuel surcharges, etc.?

Turkish unilaterally imposes fuel surcharges on award flights operated by Ethiopian unfortunately.

How unfortunate!

Does TK do this with other *A partner airlines' award tickets, like UA or AV as well?
What might I expect in award surcharges:
ET r/t BRU-ADD-HRE in J?
ET o/j BRU-ADD-HRE & BLZ-ADD-BRU in J?

United Airlines (UA) doesn't imposed surcharges on any of its own ánd partner award flights, right?
My questions are:
Does Ethiopian Airlines (ET) impose surcharges on its award flights?
Does Turkish Airlines (TK) unilaterally impose surcharges on ET award flights?
To what amounts could I expect TK to impose surcharges on ET award flights?
Any links to where I can find info regarding your experience?

If ET charges UA for anything I assume that UA would certainly pass it on to its customers. There are other carriers with higher surcharges and fees for awards and UA passes them along (like LX, TK, NH,TG, etc). The sward surcharges and fees appear to be unique for each specific carrier.

I guess you logically assume, that UA will pass on any surcharges their Star Alliance (*A) and non-*A airline partners impose on their award tickets/flights. From what I have read though, UA MileagePlus (M+) and Avianca (AV) LifeMiles (LM) are *A frequent flyer programs (ffp's) known NOT to. That's why people like to book Lufthansa Group (LHG) airlines Lufthansa (LH), Swiss (LX), Austrian (OS) and Brussels Airlines (SN) award tickets through UAM+ and AVLM.

There are many sources, for example

Well, a lot better than AA surcharges. Trying to use up some AA points and J surcharges to Italy range from about $500 (AA nonstop to Rome or Iberia via MAD) to $1500 (BA via LHR).

In Star Alliance, each airline decides what to fuel surcharges/award surcharges charge its members for using that airline's miles. It's irrelevant whether or not ET charges fuel surcharges to its own customers if TK charges them for ET flights.

YQ on Ethiopian Airlines is non-interlineable. That means ET does not charge other airlines YQ for segments booked on Ethiopian (whether revenue or award).

Does Turkish Airlines (TK) unilaterally impose surcharges on ET award flights?
Yes.

To what amounts could I expect TK to impose surcharges on ET award flights?
Whatever they want to impose. TK chooses how much to impose and TK gets to keep that amount for themselves.
