Is Kulula and/or Comair operating?

I just saw that Comair and Kulula have been indefinitely grounded.

There is this thread on the BA forum about it as well. I was wondering if this will end up be a long running issue for the airlines involved.

I'm wondering what this tells us about SACAA's competence.

Well isn't it ultimately SAA's competence as shutting down the competition helps them survive? Or that's my guess anyways. I haven't kept tabs on South Africa since the pandemic began.

There's hints of previously documented problems. Whether said previously documented problems were ... documented (or severe enough) ... to help preserve SAA is an interesting question. Tho' I wonder if SACAA and their apparatchik bosses are that smart. BA isn't exactly a bit player in the international market. I'd imagine that the Competition Court would have heard from them (via Comair) if there was a whiff of regulatory over-reach to shut Comair down. Indeed, the lack of it indicates Comair may have said to themselves, "you come at the King, you best not miss" in deciding whether to challenge SACAA.

I've just read on the British Airways board that the suspension has been lifted and they're back in business.

It appears that their flights have been reloaded and they are just about back to normal.

I am seeing 8 BA flights listed between CPT and JNB for next Monday.
