The video look nice, but the reality is a little less glowing, I did not even know that the lounge was almost new, I was there 3 weeks ago.

There are two separate wings to the lounge - the Business Class side for Cloud Nine pax only, and the Gold side which I presume is for *G and other eligible pax. Only the Business Class wing was open when I passed through 3 weeks ago, but it is a mirror image of the lounge shown in the video so they are pretty much identical I presume.
The video really makes it look a lot nicer than it is. Imagine a big room with red furniture, a buffet and a bar. That's pretty much it.

Two weeks ago stayed there for an hour to escape the cigarette smoke at the gates. Extremely underwhelming experience. Bar closed. Only sparse soft drinks in fridges. Questionable self serve buffet. Dirty tables everywhere, very depressing overall.

The lounge was very busy in the evening, it looked like people were strungling to find a place to sit (not to mention keeping distance in the same time). There is a meeting room which was open (next to smoking room) and I managed to secure a spot in there.
Lot of local food options, wide selection of wines, champagne available - just ask. A solid lounge if you ask me, but it should have at least two times the current capacity...

USed the new lounge last week. It was busy when I landed at 7am but soon it emptied out. At one point around 11am there were hardly more than 10-15min passengers in the lounge.
Breakfast served was decent. Local Ethiopian food is amazing. Fresh coffee served!
Overall an OK place to spend a few hours away from the madness of Bole airport...but nothing extraordinary or great.

Difference between *Gold & C9 Lounge?
Will have about 6hrs layover in Addis and was curious what are the differences between the two lounges.
Specifically, a shower is very much needed after getting off a 14hr flight. I read the C9 lounge has shower rooms but not sure about the *G one.
Depending on the amenities, I may consider bidding an upgrade for the connecting flight.

Does anybody know if I can take a guest to the Gold lounge If I am *G?
On the website states "Currently, due to COVID-19, we regret to inform our esteemed customers that Ethiopian lounge at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is not accepting guests as per the star alliance regulation."
