13 Hours Layover at Muscat (Oman Air)

Hi guys,

I have a long 13 hours layover at the Muscat Airport next month. I'm traveling on J so i will have the lounge access, but is it comfortable/safe staying there for 11-13 hours? Or should i just take Visa on Arrival and have a sightseeing or sleep at a hotel?

Go see the city. Specially if your layover is during the day. Mutrah area is a good one (it has a souq, open air cafes, fort and waterfront).

No lounge - and Oman Air’s at MCT is a very good one - is worth spending 12 hours in. Yes, it would be perfectly safe, and there are rest areas ; but when all said & done, it’s just a glorified waiting room (and can be noisy at times). I’m pretty sure you would regret it.

Get yourself out of the airport to explore a little - you can see a lot in the time available and the check-in / immig / security etc on your return, using the premium channel, is a painless process.

If it’s a night transit, get yourself a hotel room !
