Not sure how helpful this is in relation to CAI but I have asked a the gate a couple of times on flights CPH - CAI and it has always been possible. Don’t remember the exact amount but always found the price too high. I was informed that the upgrade fee depends on how much you’ve paid for your eco ticket (I was always on the lowest eco fair). Btw, the upgrade feed had to be paid in cash (USD).
