Beware SV / Saudia / Saudi Arabian Unpublished Dress Code Restrictions
Two more reports have surfaced of passengers denied passage by Saudi air employees, in this case men wearing shorts. In the most recent instance, a man wearing shorts flying from Jakarta via Riyadh to Istanbul was denied boarding at the gate on 3 October; he was able to purchase a sarong at a kiosk, whereupon he was allowed to board. That’s pretty vague compared to the language used previously, according to The Independent:
Apparently, the airline replaced this with the new, vague language when people complained about the restrictions in 2017.
As to reaccommodation, Saudi is clear about that: no, you’ll have to purchase a new ticket if you miss your flight if you’re denied boarding because you violate their unpublished dress code, according to a Saudi flight attendant quoted in Newsweek (link to article):

Saudia is requesting from their guests to abide by a dress code whereby they are clothed in a manner that is inline with public taste or not offensive to other passengers
