KQ Kenya Airways seatmaps unavailable for past five days?

Having trouble seeing seatmaps for all future KQ flights, during the past five days.

I have reservations in December, and the seatmaps were viewable in EF from the T-90 day point, and on KQ.com in Manage My Booking, but for the past five days they’re not showing up on either. Neither are they showing up on other ST member airline websites.

Have tried searching various other KQ flights on EF, close in and far out, and none are loading seat maps...

Any insights from anyone in the know? Are KQ systems having trouble?

Thanks

Indeed, none of my 3 bookings with them show the seatmaps (only KL/AF pre/post flights are displayed).
As all seats are already selected - except for the end of December - I will check on that later.

Anyone accessing KQ seatmaps yet?

And anyone have any insight into what’s happening at KQ that their maps are down for two weeks?

I just booked a new ticket and for me too there is no option to choose a seat. So I rang up KQ and asked if they could give me a seat assignment on the phone. They replied that I had to do that two hours before the flight. I said that I am FB Plat and normally I choose my seat at time of booking. Then the lady said please hold. I waited a few minutes then gave up.

For me it's a short ERJ flight from EBB so the seat is not a big deal, but they clearly are having a problem.

Seems they’re back! After almost a month. I can now access seatmaps on ExpertFlyer for all my KQ flights

I could not change it on the KQ site but was able to do it on the AF site (with the change of seat correctly reflected on the KQ site afterwards). You may want to try through AF's or KL's MMB.

Why does KQ only open up their seat map at T-90? Every other carrier I've flown allows you to choose seats at booking.

Building off of that, what's the process for picking seats? Do they charge extra for exit row economy? I'm currently a Flying Blue Gold and Delta Platinum so I know how to navigate DL/AF/KL seats process, but never flown KQ before.

Exit row economy:
Pro: absolutely free for all, doesn't matter if you are STEP or first time traveller.
Con: they are only allocated upon check-in at the airport.

Thanks for the response. A few more questions, what's STEP?

If I grab a seat assignment at T-90 will I still be able to get an exit row at Check-In?

Yes no problem - just arrive at the airport as early as u can - usually CI counters open 3h before the flight.
STEP means SkyTeam Elite Plus.
