Luanda lounge
We have a 5 hour stop at LAD in September. Connecting from LHR to WDH. The WDH leg is economy so we won't be able to use the TAAG lounge.
Priority pass is showing a Pall lounge. Does anyone have any experience of it? The pics seem to suggest that there are no windows and it looks very dim. There won't be time to leave the airport so are there any other bars or cafes with decent seating and hopefully a view of something where we could sit for a while? What currency would we need to use in the airport? |
There are the following lounges:
Pall lounge: Priority Pass accepted. Extremely limited selection of snacks. Soft drinks, local canned beer and poor quality spirits. Not a very spacious lounge and not a relaxing room. Still if the airport is busy you can get a bit of peace there. Taag lounge: Free entry to DT Umbi Umbi Gold and above members or travelling in premium cabins on most other airlines. Better food and drink than Pall. Much more spacious. Still not great but reasonably comfortable. I believe you can pay US$50 for entry if not busy. Crystal lounge. About US$35 for entry. Price includes a meal. Food is poor. Service is abysmal. Has views of ramp unlike the other lounges. Is always empty. Is spacious in dining area but not comfortable chairs. Has a small dark room with sofas. Smoking lounge: About US$10 to enter. Price includes a soft drink. Not very comfortable and full of smoke. If you can leave airport there is a new restaurant across car park, O Rico. It is clean, cheap and close by. Specialises in pork dishes. You can pay in US$ or AOA. EUR normally accepted but US$ better. |
Thanks.
Not necessary now. BA has cancelled the Luanda route. |
In case anyone is wondering - the lounge is pretty drab, almost no food or drinks and its only advantage vs. the terminal is the A/C is a bit better.
