ET awards availability
 

I've been trying to book a series of flights into East Africa from North America and from East Africa to Spain. Tons of awards flights available, but suddenly as of yesterday all of the ET saver awards flights disappeared! all the flights involving EBB, ADD, NBO, DAR....thoughts? Has anyone seen this before? The flights are in July/August.

The awards are there but there is a glitch on United.com as of exactly midnight last night Addis time (I was in the middle of a search when everything disappeared at exactly midnight so I can pinpoint the precise moment when it happened!) so nothing shows up there anymore. The seats are still available from other *A partners however.

I don't have any experience booking with other *A partners. All my miles are united. What is the best way to do that?

You should be able to call United and the call center can still book the seats.

no dice. called a few times, none of the ET flights coming up for any of the agents. I do see the availability on aeroplan. frustrating.

fortunately, one of the United agents spent over an hour on the phone with me and was able to book a series of flights on EgyptAir/Lufthansa

YYZ -> NBO
NBO -> MAD
BCN -> SFO

all economy saver, total 80k miles per person for the whole itinerary. will call back and see if I can sneak another subsaharan africa flight in there, should qualify under the excursionist perk

Now flights are gone on ANA website as well. No saver awards on ET

It's a system display issue with UA/NH then as I was able to issue an ET award via LifeMiles this afternoon with no issues whatsoever. The inventory is definitely still there.

Likely temporary, so unless you need to book right away then hold out a bit. ET availability is quite good, so wouldn't worry too much if travel is far enough into the future.

What’s the best way to check and book ET award availability online using Ethiopian Sheba Miles or Aegean Miles+Bonus miles?

Six days now and ET award availability is still not showing.

If you have to call to book an award for something you could have done yourself if there was no glitch, do you have to pay the phone booking fee?

Depends if it's down for UA only or all of *A. Check Aeroplan and Lifemiles to verify, if it's down for them too then calling UA won't do any good, the problem is likely on ET's end in that case.

It's not an ET availability issue. I've issued ET award flights via LifeMiles last week after the problem began with UA.

It is now June 19 and still no way to see ET awards on UA website. I don't know if they are even available to be booked with UA miles. I have 3 months until I need to be able to book for the dates I want in 2018.

In the meantime, are there any other airline web sites that are showing ET award availability? I am preplanning the flights I am wanting to try to book and want to have researched all my options ahead of time so when I have to call this in the UA I can feed them the flights I want.

I did check award nexus and ET award flights don't show up there.

ET availability is again showing up via Aeroplan (Air Canada).
