I remember when they started Tokyo it ended up being about a year past the originally planned launch. During that time there was almost no information released. They seem to work things out quicker for the US, but since it is using Lome as a stopover perhaps that throws a wrench into things.

They announced JFK service via Lome in Feb. using 788 beginning 3rd July 2016 subject to government approval. Not sure if it's been granted but I was able to do a dummy booking on orbitz but not on ethiopian airlines website but their site is really not the best.
