Payment problem on kuwaitairways.com

Hi there,

I have been reluctantly trying to buy a ticket with Visa and Mastercard (both were working like a charm in US and Canada and online recently) on the site of Kuwait Airways however after every trial I found myself back onto the payment options page with a payment error message.

Did anybody experience similar behaviour while purchasing on their site and if so what could be the solution?

After contacting them KAC has no clues whatsoever citing a timeout limitation, which was never the case and the interface they use is migs.mastercards.com.au via Kuwait Fianance House.

My last idea would be the cardholder name order error as on our cards it is starting with the surname followed by the first name.

Thanks a lot in advance for any helpful hint!

Try booking through Expedia or the like.

Indeed that is working as always, however the same ticket costs 60 USD more than it would have been via the KAC site.

Did you check other sites? Kayak is very useful.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Of course, but it only brings up those well known sites where the ticket can be bought at the mentioned more expensive price. Most probably none of KACs clients have so far complained as i suspect they are happy about buying the tickets at the more expensive end of the price range either via their offices or these sites or other alternative distribution channels.

The strange thing is that I also contacted the Kuwaiti bank responsible for the online payment and the international credit card company whose customized interface they are using, but got no reactions either.

Anyway I think I will have to end up flying one of their competitors as on their site at least the payment is working for sure as I already booked with them once. Sad story as I would have liked to fly aboard the A300-600R but not at all costs ;) Such is life!

I believe that within Kuwait it is possible to use locally-issued credit card through their site, and the local debit cards. Yet, if you tried with a travel agent, you can still get it using your credit card.

Thanks a lot for the clarification as this would explain why I cannot pay with a card issued by a European bank. I will try to contact a travel agent then as a last resort to check the price they have on offer.

believe me, I always faced issues with them for miles redemption, and sometimes credit card payments....I would recommend to check their services in mid 2015 where new planes are coming in and major restructuring and overhauling of services has been done recently to reach Etihad/EK and QR level of services. They are on the path of SV right now towards improvement, hopefully.
