JNB to Kilimanjaro airport (JRO) advice
Hello,

What is the best way to get to Kilimanjaro airport in Tanzania from JNB. I need to arrive into JRO - latest at 10 am on March 2nd.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I think flying would probably be the best option. Overland can be unpredictable and doesn't really offer any advantages.

Indeed flying - I meant what are the flight options and easiest way to get to JRO by flight from JNB???

KQ/PW via Nairobi is the most logical option.

You can take the Kenya Airways redeye out of Joburg to Nairobi and then connect on a range of options early in the morning that arrive before 10am.

If you took the redeye from JNB to NBO on KQ, you will connect to JRO and land at JRO at 0940 on PW or 0950 on KQ. Not sure if you have to be at the airport by 1000, or have a meeting, etc. at 1000. Both the PW and KQ options can be up to 30 minutes late on average.

The other option is to arrive into JRO on the 1st of March.

Thanks Roadwarrior - indeed, the red eye is what I'm looking into.....

Yup, getting into JRO approx 10am allows us to take the Coastal air flight at 12:30PM to get to the serengeti.
