New system for SA Voyager
I stumbled across this announcement on the web site. Apparently the enhanced functionality will include:
This due to happen on 5 October and the system will be unavailable from 5 - 7 October. Given that the last upgrade caused the system to down for several weeks it would probably be a good idea to get all your stuff done in advance.
•- upgrading with Miles
•- purchasing award top-up Miles
•- requesting membership card replacements
•- claiming Star Alliance missing Miles
•- donating your Miles to charity
•- significant reduction in the period for processing of missing Miles

So if that is a preview of the 'improved customer experience', brace yourself!
And I agree that with the experience we have of the virtual absence of IT proficiency within the airline, one would be wise to be prepared for a long outage!
