Transit times in Nairobi

I have a friend who has a connection in Nairobi (NBO). Originally, he had a 2 hour layover, but due to delays, the connection is just under an hour.

He has to go through customs, recheck his bags, and get to his gate. Is 50 minutes or so sufficient time, or is it likely that he'll miss his flight? He's flying Kenya Airways, if it matters.

Thank you.

He could well miss it. Lines, luggage and security are highly variable in length of time and KQ is frequently delayed (although from your posting you suggest he is now underway already??). Personally I always shoot for at least 3 hours layover in Nairobi when flying KQ because of their unreliability as well as the possible chaos at the airport.
