If you can’t get it to work, then you go to claim missing points on the Melia site as the only way to contact MeliaRewards

Niche question: when people book and prepay via Melia's website or app, does your credit card statement show the correct merchant name (the hotel) or the Melia group? Asking this as I vaguely remember it's the latter, and I need the correct merchant name to trigger my Amex cashback offer. Thanks!

I have reset my password about 10 times now, but no matter what I do I just can't login with the password I have created. Are there any more people with the same problem? I haven't tried contacting them yet, just curious if more people are facing this issue.

I did a booking under my Melia Rewards for a pre paid rate : Melia Alicante
I cant post the screenshot as my administrator privileges tokens are revoked from posting screen shots
but my creditcard statement shows:
Details
Omschrijving / Description : Hotels Melia
Land / Country : ES
(so just the generic group)
* the password thing is notoriously buggy -
it took me 3 times to set up an account with a working password without throwing my ipad out of my 5th floor window out of despair
I am myself familiar with IHG's temperamentful IT but Melia takes it to the next level of idiocy! Bonkers!

Melia Alicante
What can i say:
- extrenely friendly staff that is in tune with the holiday moods of us Brittons
- English / French spoken across all staff
- the upsell to the Level is worth it : lounge with F&B
- tram L5 stops across from the hotel
- a SPAR supermarket is across the street
- sea view faces north + spectacular views on the castle/mountains
- marina view faces south + longer sunshine & sunsets
- junior suite has a colapsable sofa AND 2 bathroons : good if travelling with someone else whom doesn't need to share the bed / bathroom
What makes me scratch my head:
- late checkout
only available if asking at noon at checkout day - not even available if one is WILLING to pay in advance any surcharge to confirm late checkout
i have asked 4 different persons across all departments ..... zilch...
- some things are not replenished at all
Instant coffee / tea bags etc..... yet the free daily can of mineral water is ?!
Next visit will be at this hotel again but i'll book an early flight out as i don't like the uncertainty of may or may not possible to do late checkout (even with payment )
EDIT: Latcheckout for our jr, suite seaview Level was €70 untill 18.00H

I've just tested it and it's working for me.
The "new" site is unusable IMO.

It is all strangely dysfunctional. I just booked a 3 night stay at Gran Melia Isora Tenerife for early March. Wanted to use my birthday discount voucher (20%) and book on the app (5%). I have done this before. This time the app did not recognize the discount code. The website did.

More Gran Melia/luxury properties are in the works, according to the CEO, including safari lodges and two new properties in Paris.

I just applied for membership through my AMEX Platinum card. I got an email with a card number, but:
- The "continue registration" link doesn't work
- The "contact us" link is expired
- The 0800 (Switzerland) phone number doesn't work anymore (is no longer in service)
- No agents available for chat
- The "request call" functionality doesn't work because it won't allow me to enter a time (which is a mandatory field)
