Anyone staying at Wingate Inns?

Very nice properties. Wingates are typically new and clean. Free cont. breakfast and free high speed internet access in the rooms - which saves me time and money (which I like).

At one time I frequented the one in Madison WI. They use to have a frequent stayer program, which I guess they discontinued. I had several "cards" filled out for free stays, but never received anything back. I mailed them my copies of the cards and they would not except them. After losing those stays I never tried the chain again. I hate getting ripped off.

But in retrospect I really enjoyed the hotels. That was some 3 years ago and I wondered if they had changed their collective attitude yet.

How does their frequent stayer program stack up these days to others in the industry?

Looks like Wingate has a new program available. Spending $5000 earns you a free R/T ticket anywhere in the US; not a bad deal (though it has a $500 max value cap). Hilton would require spending $5666 for the same free ticket (as HH diamond) or $8500 as a regular member.

You can redeem on AA, CO, US, AC, AS, Aloha, HP, DL, Midwest Express, and UA.
