Ascott Star Rewards
 

I recently spent a few months at an Ascott property in Singapore and accumulated over 40k points and gold status. I'm trying to redeem these points now for a new booking, and it seems that for a 40k points I only get about $100 off. That seems like a pretty crap redemption. Looking at the Gold status benefits, the perks seem pretty mediocre too. Is this just a crap rewards program, or am I doing something wrong? Given my dollar-spend over a few months, I'd have thought I'd get some more benefits out of a rewards program.

Edit: I might have not had my points credited properly — just noticed that I should probably have many more!

I am trying to BOOK a property in Singapore and every single one of them says they don't participate in ASR. Not sure if it's a glitch in the website (it's loading REALLY slowly as well). Is there some issue with ASR at the moment?

I status matched Ascott to ASR platinum level last year and now have 180K points from a 3 weeks stay. Now I'm forced to stay Ascott again for another month or 2 as plat and hoping to get some meaningful level of points accumulated.

Hotel is very nice. No complaints.

Hey.. I am ASR Platinum too and I only choose Ascott properties when there are not other decent alternatives - like in Manila. Have you found out if they recognise status and offer upgrades?
