Bait and switch?
 

Booked a Transavia flight (using booking.com ) from Amsterdam to Malaga. Today (2 days before departure) I got an email from "Gotogate in partnership with Booking.com" telling me that my flight would leave at the same time, but would be on GetJet airline.

My concerns are as follows:
When I booked with booking,com, I did not know they were in partnership with Gotogate, or would have booked directly on Transavia site, having read warnings about using third party booking sites, especially Gotogate.
I have never heard of GetJet, and after getting the notice have read several poor reviews about the airline.

What are my consumer rights in these circumstance?
Any advice appreciated.

GetJet is probably doing a wet lease on behalf on Transavia. You won't have any consumer rights.

Some airlines (BA, etc.) are willing to provide refunds / date changes if you don't like the fact that the flight won't be operated by the airline itself.

But to be honest, now that you've added a dodgy OTA into the mix - meaning that Transavia can't touch your ticket - you're flying GetJet or you're buying yourself a ticket on a different airline.

GetJet is a wet lease charter airline. Transavia is using them for this flight. This is still a Transavia flight. Even if you had booked on their own website you would still have gotten GetJet.

Gotogate is a horrible OTA - not sure why you would book on there vs. directly with Transavia.

Mytrip/Gotogate is to be avoided at all costs. If any assistance is needed after making the reservation you are SOL.

Lesson learned, thanks. Now that I know booking.com partners with gotogate I will not make the same mistake again.

It's not as if Booking.com (i.e. Priceline) would have been any better on its own.

You always should be booking directly with the airline, unless there's a large cost saving to be had...

My experiences of GotoGate matches other contributors. Even if they appear to offer a better headline price your journey through their booking engine will soon nullify that - as well as driving you nuts! (other so-called consolidators are available :))

I start my search with Google Flights and buy from the airline at the end of the process.
